Hello, Sorry for the delay in replying, I've been in the USA for a trip. Get Al Dava, he is excellent. Al can usually be found in Bukittinggi, or you can look him up on Facebook if you have an account. I can't recall exactly how much the trip cost, but it wasn't much and it is well worth being guided on the trek as the majority of the lower part of the volcano is covered in rain forest. Al provides a taxi to and from the base of the volcano and food and drink for the trip. He also carries first aid gear. Al speaks several languages and is a very experienced guide. Enjoy your trip.
