The falls are yet another hidden gem! The walk to the falls is not very far from the parking lot. There are several trails to choose from. Take one or take them all. Just get out and enjoy them!Full review by WinddancerDT3230CW

Beautiful falls, and very easy to walk down to see. There is an easy boardwalk, or you can climb down rock steps to get right by the river. I believe these are the largest falls in the Lower Peninsu…Full review by lvgal61

What a beautiful place - both the waterfalls and the surrounding woods. The trails are well-marked and easy to follow. We opted for a shorter loop of about 2.5 miles, rather than the full 6-mile loop…Full review by Carole M

Is there a place to go tubing here. And do you have to walk far to get back to the campground?
A:
We just went to the main falls area--but we saw no place to tube---unless it was hidden up or downstream Gary

I think the falls would be too rough for a three year old in a kayak. The water is quite fast moving and rocky. You would be better off to go to one of the beaches on Grand Lake or Lake Huron. There is a sandy beach with shallow water on the opposite side of the road from the Presque Isle marina that would be safer for a small child. Look for the parking lot for the association beach house.
Q:
Are the falls and hiking areas dog friendly?
A:
There were many dogs when we visited. On leash, of course. And please clean up your pet's poops.
