The NBA’s lone Canadian franchise made its biggest splash since Kawhi Leonard last week when the Toronto Raptors initiated a trade for Brandon Ingram. While this move won’t lead to an immediate championship like Kawhi’s did,

Ingram will now be a part of another talented forward duo, joining Scottie Barnes in Toronto. Developing the kind of relationship with Scottie that it sounds like he had with Zion should go a long way to helping Ingram acclimate and make the most of his time with the Raptors.

Ingram stopped and glanced over, giving a subtle head nod. The Raptors acquired the former All-Star and Most Improved Player in a trade agreed upon late Wednesday night. Ingram is still getting to know his teammates. He said he chatted with the face of the franchise, Scottie Barnes, whom Ingram assessed as a “goofball” off the court.
