CC Sabathia, who pitched the last 11 seasons of his 19-year Major League career in New York, will be wearing a Yankees cap in his Hall of Fame plaque.

The Baseball Hall of Fame ceremony this summer will feature the induction of five new players and each of the five will have a logo on their plaque caps. The Hall of Fame announced each cap selection on Monday. The induction ceremony this year will be Sunday, July 27.

Through the years, former New York Yankees left-hander CC Sabathia said that if he was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame, he was going to wear a Yankees cap on his plaque. Sometimes, promises aren’t kept,

CC Sabathia will have a New York Yankees logo on the cap of his Hall of Fame plaque and Bill Wagner will have the symbol of the Houston Astros.

Dave Parker (Pirates) and Dick Allen (Phillies) will represent their longtime teams on their Hall of Fame plaques.

CC Sabathia began his career with the Cleveland Guardians but he spent the bulk of it with the Yankees, which is why he will get inducted into the Hall of Fame as a Yankee.

"I found a home in the Bronx, and I don't think I'll ever leave this city," the southpaw said after his induction.
