Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared a national emergency as the country witnesses the worst wildfires in a decade

Wind-fueled fires in Israel are tearing through brush outside Jerusalem, prompting the evacuation of residents and leaving more than a dozen people hospitalized.

The wildfire shut the main highway linking Tel Aviv to Jerusalem on Wednesday, turning the skies over Jerusalem gray and sending at least a dozen people to the hospital.
