As The Forsytes, based on John Galsworthy's epic Edwardian drama chronicling the lives of an upper middle class family in London, comes to Radio 4 we examine the life of an Edwardian gentlemen.

The extended Forsyte family live a more than pleasant upper middle class life in Victorian and later Edwardian England. The two central characters are Soames Forsyte and his cousin Jolyon Forsyte.
