Though Apple has revised its Photos app several times in the past year since shipping iOS 18, the reappearance of the tab bar represents the biggest reversal yet to a pre-iOS 18 design.

With that, the address bar, tabs, and “new tab” button all take advantage of Android’s Material You theming. That in itself gives the new look a nice little pop.

The new Chrome bottom bar look seeks to simplify this experience without introducing additional layers of complexity. Currently, other interface elements, such as the tab switcher, remain as they are.
