Officials in southern Italy say that a cable car carrying tourists south of Naples has crashed after the cable snapped, killing at least four people and critically injuring one.

Four people were killed and one severely injured when their cable car plunged into a ravine in Italy on Thursday, local authorities said.

The car had been traversing the 1,100m-high mountain when a cord to one of the cabins snapped say local media.
