Pope Francis plans to make his first public appearance since he was hospitalized more than a month ago on Sunday, greeting the public from the hospital where he’s being treated for double pneumonia.

Pope Francis is to give his blessing and greet a crowd from hospital for the first time since he was admitted on 14 February.

Pope Francis will be discharged from hospital on Sunday and will need two months of rest at the Vatican, one of the doctors treating him says. Francis, 88, was admitted to a Rome hospital on February 14 with a severe respiratory infection that has required evolving treatment.
