Willingham was the first African-American head coach in any sport at Notre Dame. Some position themselves atop tall towers, from where, like emperors, they can look down on their football fiefdoms.

Coach Paul "PWillie" Willingham officially retired Monday from his position as an assistant coach for Ennis High School. Coach Willie has been a part of all five of the school's state championships.
