This feature, first reported by AndroidPolice, allows Premium users to send ad-free versions of nearly any video to their friends, provided both parties are in regions where YouTube Premium is available. Exceptions include music videos, YouTube Originals, Shorts, Livestreams, and Movies & Shows.

A small pool of YouTube Premium subscribers can now share custom video links that let the recipients watch videos without any ads, but only ten times per month.

Ads on YouTube are a hot-button topic, and while some viewers need no encouragement at all to sign up for Premium, others seem intent on doing everything in their power to avoid paying a single dime. And while they can ultimately still view videos, the ads they find themselves faced with can prove to be a major source of frustration.
