Italian energy company Eni will return to the FIA Formula 1 World Championship after a 25-year break as energy and fuel supplier of Renault's racing team Alpine, they said on Thursday.

Eni has made a return to Formula 1 and is back on board at Enstone after signing a strategic partnership deal with both Alpine and Renault. The energy tech company was last in F1 with Benetton in 2000 but will now work with Alpine as the team’s official energy and fuel partner.

Claudio Descalzi, CEO of Eni, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, highlighting the combined technological leadership of both companies in promoting sustainable transport. Renault Group CEO Luca de Meo also welcomed the partnership, emphasizing the power of teamwork to drive innovation in mobility.
