Over the years the song has been performed by Pink, Faith Hill, and currently Carrie Underwood. While not the official SNF theme (more on that later) it’s become synonymous with the broadcast.
If you listen closely to The After Hours episode of The Twilight Zone, you hear the opening notes of the Severance theme.
