According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, Israeli forces are installing new iron gates at the entrances to towns and villages across the occupied West Bank, as part of a policy of “tightening the siege” on local communities and turning them into “isolated areas” where movement is severely restricted.

The escalating Israeli raid on Jenin continued despite the recent ceasefire in Gaza, pausing an Israeli assault on the territory that had continued for 15 months after the October 7th Hamas attacks on Israeli towns and kibbutzim around Gaza.

The Palestinian health ministry, based in Ramallah, said the operation had killed eight people, just days after a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas took effect in the Gaza Strip. The Palestinian Red Crescent said its first responders treated seven people injured by live ammunition and that Israeli forces were hindering their access to the area.
