Save the icon in .ico or .png format. Be sure to save your icon in one of these formats to ensure compatibility with most browsers, including Google Chrome and Firefox. Upload the icon to your server.

Update 3/7: As of Thursday morning, the Notifications Widget is now gone from the Google bar. Existing pages will retain the bell icon, but a refresh or new Search will remove the button.
