The MG 15 is a German aircraft machine gun adopted by the Luftwaffe as a flexible-mounted machine gun in the 1930s. By 1941, it was phased out from air service by other machine guns (such as the MG 81, MG 81Z, MG 131, and MG 151) and some examples were converted for infantry use near the end of the war. The MG 17 is the MG 15's fixed-mount sibling.
