At Bradley, we help children and teens who experience trauma, mental illness, and behavioral challenges. To succeed, these children often need much more than just a second chance. They also need guidance, compassion, and help making good choices, so they can grow up to become their best selves.

Based on our cornerstone values of compassion, stability, and structure, Bradley Center children receive the behavioral tools they need to change their own lives for the better. The Bradley Center’s Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) is an intensive mental health treatment facility where children ages 6–18 who have severe mental, emotional, intellectual, and behavioral challenges receive 24-hour care and therapy.

For over 100 years, The Bradley Center has helped thousands of children rediscover hope. How the Bradley Story Began Our doors first opened in 1905, when The United Methodist Women established an orphanage and interim housing facility for Pittsburgh-area children whose parents were separated or divorced.

The Bradley Center primarily provides treatment services to boys and girls ages 6-18 who are experiencing emotional, developmental, and behavioral health challenges. Many of the children at Bradley have also experienced trauma.

The children and teens who live at The Bradley Center Psychological Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) have many opportunities each day to learn, play, connect, and heal. Here are some examples of what daily life is like for a Bradley Center child.

The LOTUS Studio enhances the care that children receive at Bradley and provides many benefits for our community. One child shared, “I like to take all my stressors and throw it into art.” We love seeing how children give voice to their creativity through this space.
