Our tiered approach to leadership development offers a comprehensive training program to emerging law enforcement leaders. Completing all three levels of LEIC’s leadership training results in a “ Certification of Law Enforcement Leadership ”.

The UT Law Enforcement Innovation Center (LEIC) operates as a branch of the University of Tennessee Institute for Public Service. LEIC enhances law enforcement personnel’s skills through training programs aimed at enhancing policing standards.

Interactive instruction from top law enforcement personnel is just part of the five-week Southeastern Leadership Academy, formerly the Southeastern Command and Leadership Academy. May include LEIC Advanced Leadership course or the FBI- TN Law Enforcement Executive Development. Level 3 Requirements Minimum total of 7 years law enforcement experience, and currently serve, or have served in a supervisory or administrative role.

The focus of LEIC is innovation in leadership development, information technology utilization, community and youth involvement, and operations training. The ultimate goal is to improve the lives of citizens in Tennessee, across the country and around the world.
