
brewing - What are the differences between mead and beer?
From my understanding, mead is primarily made from honey and may or may not have hops added. Is mead considered a style of beer, or more of a wine, or a completely separate kind of beverage? Are they brewed similarly? More specifically, would it be reasonable to think a brewery I like may make, or consider making mead as well?

Stout is a kind of ale that typically uses roasted malts or roasted grains. It often has a strong coffee/chocolate flavor, and it's usually got higher alcohol content. Mead is fermented honey.

Nov 30, 2022 · Personally, I go for the wine. Fruits go in kegs, veggies in preserves jars. But also hops & honey in kegs. I find mead to be a good, easy, quick way for money. 200 per mead, and if you put it in the keg in the morning, it's ready by night. So no extra tending to it like coffee or tea. Also, cheeses in the casks!

Also, high moderate to high gravity mead will take a minimum of a year of aging to start getting good (~12+ ABV). If you really like honey and want high booze... look into barenjager. It is German honey liquor and is pretty awesome at 40ABV.
