Denali is one of the coldest mountains in the world. Temperatures on the mountain can be as low as negative 40 degrees with winds of 80 to 100 miles per hour in the summer. The West Buttress, South Face and Muldrow Glacier routes are the most popular.

Denali State Park is famous for its hiking trails, wildlife, and stunning views of nearby Denali (formerly Mt. McKinley). Hike up 1,100 feet from lush forest to treeline (weather permitting) for panoramic views of Alaska Range peaks and glaciers.

Mount McKinley is an expedition, meaning that the mountain is almost always a multi-week endeavor, which is very different than an overnight or even multi-day climb. All team members should have previous experience in the "expedition environment."

Proceed cautiously on this 33.6-mile out-and-back trail near Denali National Park, Alaska. Generally considered a highly challenging route, it takes an average of 26 h 6 min to complete and should only be attempted by experienced adventurers.

Mount McKinley can be hiked as a solo ascent or as part of a multi-peak day hike along with Mendenhall Peak (LPC) and/or Iron Mountain #2 (HPS). Most of the trails and roads are mountain bike friendly and don’t be surprised to see running clubs using Mendenhall Ridge Road as a marathon training route.
