Feb 16, 2014 · Pretty sure the C4OW-4210-A is a 2.80:1 ring gear. If you drop the third member out, look at the differential housing where the bolts go through into the ring gear. If there are machined "pockets" that the screws sit into, you have an Equa-Lok or Traction-Lok differential.

Apr 20, 2003 · The info stamped on the outer surface of the ring gear is: Ford USA D2AW 4210 AX2. The ring gear hub has stamped on it: C6AW 4205 B, and MCC 31. The third member housing has stamped on it : C7AW E 27.

Oct 14, 2011 · It is a full float 8 bolt pattern . It has 61-2 casted on the pumpkin and c38390 as well. I searched and searched to find the ID tag but I have not found it yet, I am cleaning the Axle slowly with a wire brush.

Aug 24, 2009 · I have a 2.75 and 3.50 gear set that both have D1AW (or N hard to tell on both gears) 4210A. Looks like random numbers (to non-Ford dudes) on the pinion near the splines. I would have to say the the gearsets are not stamped with the ratio as neither of mine are. The only gearset that IS stamped is a Richmond 4.11 set I have.

Jun 10, 2010 · The 4205 and 4210 definitely fall into the "rear axle" range of basic part numbers. I assume 4205 means it's a carrier. I also assume 4210 means it's a ring gear.

Jun 2, 2006 · It's stamped with fomoco WAA 4210 A. Do 9" ring gears measure 8.75" OD ? thanks very much. The 8 3/4" gears are indeed 9" gears, and were used with the early HiPo 289 Mustang carriers, for example. They are a little smaller than the more common later 9" ring gears, but are considered plenty strong. You'll be fine.

Jul 17, 2005 · Turn the back wheel 1 full turn and count how many times the drive shaft turns. I always thought you could read the ratio on the crown by dividing the smaller number in the the larger one. The numbers stamped on the 9" Ford is C3AW-4210-CC-9x35.
