Aug 6, 2002 · We present a user-controllable, general-purpose, pseudorandom task graph generator called Task Graphs For Free (TGFF). TGFF creates problem instances for use in allocation and scheduling research.

The latest version (3.0) expands on TGFF features, providing a highly configurable random graph generator capable of generating several types of random graphs. This document includes installation instructions as well as a list of features.

Release 3.5 Minor updates to make building with gcc 4.3 easier. Pavel Ghosh has donated a tgff2dot.pl perl script to convert from .tgff format to .dot graph format for plotting with graphviz.

It is possible to download a Windows Version of TGFF 3.1. Thanks to the people involved in the MinGW project for making it easy to build the executable. Especially for those responsible for the pre-built cross compiler. TGFF requires GNU make (or something compatible) and a recent version of GCC's C++ compiler (we're using version 3.2).
