Assembling a pc from parts can be very fun, educational, and in the process create a fully functioning computer that can be less expensive and better than buying pre-built at a store or online. Gaining and learning a valuable technical skill as well.

today i built my very own computer for the first time! I'm going to call her Nausicaa because she's basically a wind tunnel. she boots and bios detects everything, but tomorrow i still need to format drives, install OSes, set up the monitor, pick some nice colours for the rgb, etc etc. - not to mention take some better photos in daylight...

Use opensource software - try LibreOffice, try Reaper, learn Linux, use a free Photoshop clone. The next time an app tries to force you to pay, look to see if there's an opensource alternative. Make less trash - start a compost, be mindful of packaging, find another use for that plastic, make it a challenge for yourself!
