Apr 24, 2021 · It looks like the main art wasn't changed too much. Perhaps at the area of the head only. Also I'm almost sure that the dark "outline" around the nose art is the result of preparation of the surface for applying of the art. However the new name was applied with the new background overpainting the old one.

Dec 17, 2006 · However, this site happens to be for and about WWII aircraft, and inaccuracies (wether in the movies, media or art) will often times come under scrutiny. If one is just looking at the picture from an artistic appreciation point of view, then perhaps it would be better recieved at sites like Deviant Art, where details are most often overlooked.

Dec 17, 2005 · One of many general rules of thumb . . . if a photo is an official US photo (USA, USN, USMC, USAAF, various civilian agencies, or what have you) and so marked, or if you can find the same, not similar, but the same, photo in various national archives repositories, then the photo is in the public domain and may be used without fear of copyright infringement.
