
Endless Summer Hydrangea in Zone 5 - Dave's Garden
Jun 18, 2008 · The good news about Endless Summer is that it blooms on both old and new wood, so even if the old branches die and you lose those flowers you'll still get blooms later in the year on the new growth. For the height, if it continues to die back every winter it's probably never going to get 3-4 ft tall since it has to start from scratch every year.
Can Endless Summer take shade? - Dave's Garden
Mar 9, 2007 · An 'Endless Summer' was planted June '06 under a pin oak, s.e.so it gets some morning sun. It is not bloom much last year, so I'm hoping it'll do grand this year. Its my first hydrangea experience too. I'll keep you posted :*)

Apr 16, 2006 · To be blue, the aluminum in the soil must be available to the plant. Acidic soil makes the aluminum available. If you have die back of your Hydrangeas, you probably want to consider one the remontants: 'David Ramsey', 'Penny Mac' or 'Endless Summer'. The Hydrangea growers I know all like 'Endless Summer'. Sep 9, 2007 · Those of you who are disappointed in your Endless Summer should go read the thread "Endless Disappointment" in this forum--there was a lot of discussion there of various reasons why someone'e Endless Summer might not be blooming, but by the end of the thread it became clear that ES is just a bit disappointing on the blooms, if you want a rebloomer you're probably better off with Forever & Ever ...

Nov 2, 2012 · My Endless Summer actually blooms in zone 5a without protection but I was given a somewhat larger plant by a landscaper who went over time and budget - and it blooms on old wood. But it is against a stone wall on the south side of the house. I speculate that ES needs protection (I used burlap) in zone 5a and probably zone 5b at least while young.
