Apr 14, 2021 · Vanguard offers the use of hardware keys (Yubikey) but since they allow a SMS backup, it doesn't provide any additional security. (SMS two factor authentication has its own set of problems.) If there is another brokerage that offers better security and can hold Vanguard ETFs at no cost, I'm all ears. Thanks Bogleheads!

The old one it is not on any of my contact lists, and I’ve never missed a text I’ve signed up for (that I know of, of course). I guess I don’t understand the issue. The old brain may have slowed a little since I retired.

Jan 15, 2025 · Vanguard doesn't allow selling of fractional shares anyways (unless you liquidate the entire position, in which case the fractional shares are sold separately batched with other people's fractional shares) And Vanguard only allows dollar amounts to be sold (which would be fractional) with market orders.
