Jun 2, 2009 · Picked up the whole fenugreek today from the hippie store (they also had crushed/dust), it was about $6/pound, and I got 8 oz. Plan to put a couple ounces in the secondary. Fresh fenugreek smells suspiciously like curry/indian food, so it'll be interesting how the maple flavor comes out. I might end up with a nice brown curry ale.

My own thoughts as to recipes: To get an idea as to what maple syrup can add to your beer, take a whiff of fenugreek before and after taking a gulp of beer. If the fenugreek smells bad in comparison, then don't add maple syrup to the brew.
