Is R32 really this hard to come by? : r/hvacadvice - Reddit
They won't be rolling out since pure R32 systems are not on "the list" the U.S. Government dictated in 2020. It made The Other List - the phase-out list instead. It was predicted that R32 would be our new NextGen refrigerant of choice (and speculated for 10+ years) but was officially shot down due to flammability concerns <waving goodbye to R32>.
This guy is crazy, right? I can't just put r410a in a r32 ... - Reddit
Sep 16, 2023 · EDIT: I also found this "The two gases are also different in terms of their volumetric cooling capacity. R410A has a high VCP, which requires larger pipes." implying that putting it in an R32 system with smaller pipes would be problematic. EDIT2: I also found this: "Existing R32 systems can be re-engineered to use R410A safely.
Buying R32 Refrigerant in USA : r/HVAC - Reddit
Jul 13, 2021 · R32 may be special order, but they can probably get it. Call ahead. Failing that, try a local welding gas supplier. They definitely won't have stock but usually have the right contacts to get weird gasses including esoteric refrigerants.
state of things in the USA (r32 banned, r410a to be banned, r32 ...
Jul 13, 2022 · Hi All, I am a new homeowner (as of about a year ago), and am going through one of the joys: my unitary hvac system that is about 10 years old is starting to fail. After having a tech over, it seems to have a freon leak of some kind (hard to say how slow the leak is, I'll see when the AC stops working; he topped it up).
Anybody using R-32 in America yet? : r/HVAC - Reddit
R32 is only allowed because we relaxed the combustible standard on refrigerant gasses. The reason R410a is half r32 and half r125 is to bring the flammability down. If they didn't keep shifting the goalposts, we'd have had r32 back in the early 00's and wouldn't have to …
Is this R-410 ban in 2025 really going to happen? Or will it ... - Reddit
R410a is a blend of r32 and r125. 50/50 ratio. R32 is a single molecule refrigerant, it's major downside is high discharge temperature. High discharge temperature will directly corelate to increased compressor failure. This is why most manufacturers are going to r454b. It's 2/3rds r32 and 1/3 r1234yf.
Should we wait for R32 before installing a minisplit system?
R32 is the next refrigerant but is a short term fix. R32 gets phased out in the near future and will be replaced by R454B. Some manufacturers are making the big leap now to R454B instead of wasting time on R32.

Jun 3, 2023 · R410A is a non-azeotropic refrigerant blend composed of 50% difluoromethane (CH2F2), also known as R32, and 50% pentafluoroethane (C2HF5), also known as R125. These two components are combined to create a refrigerant with favorable thermodynamic properties for use in air conditioning and cooling systems.
Any thoughts on R-32? : r/HVAC - Reddit
Feb 18, 2022 · Been the norm here in the UK for the past 4 years or so now. 99% of splits/multi splits being sold are R32, VRV/VRF are still R410. Did the Daikin R32 training when it first started being pushed and they show you them igniting it. Honestly you have more chance of igniting a fart accidentally. Any videos you may have seen of R32 explosions are fake.
