May 16, 2023 · Short of a bi-pod, you can pretty much mount everything on the top rail these days with all the various mounts on the market so you don’t really need to use the MLOK rail adapters. I think a happy medium are rails like the Geissele MK4 where it gave you the best of both world. If I were building an M16A5, that would probably be my rail of choice.

Jun 13, 2010 · Specially developed on request from the USMC, the “A5” Combo Kit stock configuration was developed specifically for the future upgrade on the M16A4. If adopted, the newly revamped rifle might be designated as the M16A5.
