The image in the cover of this very article is actually the Canadian C7A2. This configuration is extremely shootable. It’s one of my favorite rifles in the safe and works very well for a variety of tasks.

May 16, 2023 · Short of a bi-pod, you can pretty much mount everything on the top rail these days with all the various mounts on the market so you don’t really need to use the MLOK rail adapters. I think a happy medium are rails like the Geissele MK4 where it gave you the best of both world. If I were building an M16A5, that would probably be my rail of choice.
