Jan 28, 2014 · I have a 1999 P1640 Limited that I fit a Caspian fiber optic front sight to. The sights dovetail was the right angle and a tiny bit oversize, but just enough for a perfect fit with a tiny bit of filing.

Apr 26, 2011 · The front sight needs to be replaced with a fiber optic of some sort, or if this is a carry gun the night sights of your choice. The best option is to have a dovetail machined into the slide for the front sight, but you can get sights that fit the factory slot as well.

Sep 12, 2021 · To get a decent rear sight that'll work with your current front, you'll likely need to mill the rear of the slide to accept a Bo-Mar or LPA type sight. There are some sights that may work, but they can be brittle, considering the tiny parts that they must use to stay compact.
