The OuiGo TGV fleet uses a group of repurposed second generation Dasye Duplex trains, built by Alstom. The cars train set makeup is similar, with two power cars and ten cars. But instead of a combination of first and second class, the trains are all second class.

The TGV-Dasyes were numbered to 700 series and by now they have become very visible working in the shared fleet with TGV-Réseaus, TGV-Hybrid/RéseauDuplexes and TGV-Duplexes. The TGV-2N2 has basically the same locomotives we have seen topping and tailing the TGV-Dasye and TGV-POS before it, with some internal additions. It is a Bo'Bo' AC model with 9280 kw / 12620 hp for its use under 25 kV 50 Hz. This kind of voltage can be found in more advanced electrified countries France itself, Italy, Spain and United Kingdom.

An excellent find that "WeGo" branded TGV was on the 600 series! They actually announced they would be using Dasye set locos with Duplex trailers, which would leave a whole bunch of unusual combinations to be formed of the remainder. Usage of the 600 series TGV-Hybrid units as is would sound more logical.

The choices on a Duplex/Dasye bi-level train are numerous, single level trains make it easier: Salle haute - solo, duo vis à vis, duo cote à cote, fenetre, couloir, place isolée Salle basse - solo, duo vis à vis, duo cote à cote, fenetre, couloir, place …

Re: French TGV crash Author: Steinzeit This was apparently a [ the ? ] dedicated "track geometry"[ in USA-speak ] or infrastructure LGV test train, and the accident occurred at the eastern end of the LGV, where there is a curve with a speed limit.

I'm quite surprised the navigator could penetrate the aluminum skin of the TGV-Dasye 700 series train. Plus there is all the time the overhead wire zigzagging above, which might have some effect. A very common mistake is to call all TGV-Duplex, TGV-Dasye, TGV-Hybrid and TGV-2N2 trains for TGV-Duplex, when these are in fact 4 quite separate types (to be discussed later in detail). The use of the 89 unit TGV-Duplex fleet concentrates mostly to French internal traffic.
