Zeus was the first hero to be implemented in Dota 2. Zeus is based on the Greek mythological god of the same name. As suggested by the game's files, Zeus's name was, at one time, Zuus.

Zeus can dominate lanes, take easy kills, deal massive damage and give vision to your team for easy ganks. He is not very item-dependent but can benefit greatly from them. If absolutely necessary to avoid death, you can take Heavenly Jump at level 1.

Corrosive Skin counters Zeus in lane by canceling the effects of Clarity as Zeus relies on Arc Lightning to farm and secure last hits. Corrosive Skin also increases Viper's magic resistance to shrug off Zeus's magical nukes.

Charged with godly might, Zeus calls down Lightning Bolts, smiting the wicked and revealing the hidden. Arc Lightning crackles between his fingers, jolts of electricity that leap from one puny mortal to the next.

Zeus performs a Heavenly Jump, shocking the closest visible nearby enemy within search radius, reducing their movement speed, attack speed, and increasing their cast time. If Zeus is moving forward, he jumps in that direction.
