I didn't know it yet, but this was a futile effort to clear my property drainage ditch. I had to hire an arborist crew to cut all 100 feet of this 40 foot tall bamboo down. Then I had to hire an excavator to dig 4 foot deep bamboo roots out and load up dumpsters. All this before I could put in a drainage culvert to move the water off my property.
