The Strokkur Geyser in Iceland is known for its frequent and impressive eruptions, shooting water up to 196 feet high. In the early 1900s, a massive earthquake blocked the water channels, causing the geyser to go dormant. However, in 1963, following recommendations from the scientific community, the local government manually unblocked the geyser.
